排行第一的 gaia online (http://www.gaiaonline.com) 是一個很奇特但有創意的線上「角色扮演」論壇，用論壇的型式來玩 rpg。創辦人應該是個姓劉的華裔。創立日期是2003年二月十八日，在半年內就累積了五百萬篇的發帖量和十萬名註冊會員。如今發文量更突破四億，會員人數也高達三百一十多萬人，不能不說是又一個網路奇觀。
不過這些好的概念似乎永遠只能在說英語的世界裡面出現和落實吧。

應該是英文人口多，上網人數多，網路生態比較發達。大陸的論壇也有不少擠進前幾十大的，但繁體中文論壇大概就比較難了。
